Real Estate Finance Associate

Our client, a growing Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate (3rd to 5th year) to support its California-based real estate finance practice while working from the firm's Seattle office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated real estate lending, joint venture, and finance transactions while building a long-term practice with a collaborative and expanding platform. The successful candidate will advise lenders, investors, and developers on complex real estate transactions across a variety of asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent lenders and investors in complex real estate finance transactions.
• Draft and negotiate real estate-secured loan documents.
• Draft and negotiate joint venture, partnership, and operating agreements.
• Review title commitments, surveys, and recorded real estate documents.
• Oversee due diligence and coordinate with paralegals and transaction teams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Advise clients on acquisition, development, financing, and investment matters involving commercial real estate assets.
• Support transactions involving multifamily, office, hospitality, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to provide comprehensive client service.

Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of real estate transactional experience, with a strong preference for attorneys who have represented lenders in real estate-secured lending transactions and/or investors in real estate joint ventures. Experience drafting loan documents, partnership agreements, and operating agreements is required. Candidates should also be comfortable reviewing title and survey matters and managing transaction due diligence. Strong drafting, analytical, and writing skills, along with excellent academic credentials, are essential.

Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in California. While the work will support the firm's California practice, attorneys may be based in the firm's Seattle office.

Compensation is expected to range from $220,000 to $300,000, with flexibility for candidates possessing particularly strong experience, credentials, or relevant expertise.
